Trinity GESE
Graded Examinations in Spoken English
Trinity’s Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) are one-to-one, face-to-face examinations of speaking and listening skills with a qualified Trinity examiner. Preparation for these exams and achievement of GESE qualifications are for those who want to develop their skills in English language speaking - for personal achievement, study, travel, employment, or for visa applications. There are 12 levels from Grade 1 to Grade 12 (Pre-A1 to C2 CEFR Proficiency levels). This exam is tailor-made for groups of English language students studying at an English school for between 1 and 4 weeks. Its unique selling point is flexibility, as each candidate can choose his/her level of exam to take from 1 to 12. So, every student gets the chance to pass the GESE as long as they choose an achievable level. Also highly flexible is the date on which the language school can book the exam unlike almost all other English language exams. It can also be relatively affordable depending on the group size with larger language groups meriting a cheaper price.
Pros: Can be taken at any time throughout the year – there are no set dates. Can be taken at any level.
Cons: Needs a group of students to make it affordable. Only tests speaking and listening skills.
